The Ginseng Line
The Panax Ginseng Bail,
from the Araliacee family, is a perennial herbaceous plant with a tuberous root. It grows
spontaneously in many countries and is cultivated in Korea, Japan, Russia and America. The
medical tradition of the Far East attributed such a wide range of curative powers to
ginseng that the incredulity of western scientist was aroused. Still only fifty years ago
pharmacologists did not believe it possible that one single medicinal plant could have
favourable effects not only on different organs and apparatus, but also on mental
functions.
